So for the transfer of oxygen through blood in fetus excessive amount of iron is required.

It is growing age of a man. In this age high exercise is important. So for proper growth of and proper exercise iron is important, because it will transfer adequate oxygen to body.
Importance of iron in immune system:
Due to low amount of iron in body a man may fell fatigue, because the lymphocytes are directly related to iron. So, iron is most important to maintain immune system.
